The prediction regarding his recovery was thought to be 8 months, also depending on how the rehabilitation goes. Before WrestleMania 32, Rollins was already back doing Crossfit.
It was anticipated that the superstar will be back in the month of May. WWE need big names and star power to increase their ratings and many feel Rollins will be rushed back to just do TV and then have him come back full time later this summer.
According to INQUISITR, Rollins will be backstage at Sunday’s Payback event in Chicago and could be making a surprise return. He is probably not expected to perform live in front of the crowd, but you never know what WWE has in their minds.
With WWE in need of people like Rollins, it does make sense for him to make a hurried return. WWE recently added him to their recent Tapout advertisement to help push up their sales. This dropped a hint on Rollins return to WWE.
However, it really comes down to the use of this wrestler. A May return doesn’t looks impossible but there won’t be any sense to have him come back just for sake.
As of now, possible storyline regarding his feud will be with current WWE champion Roman Reigns. Although AJ Styles is the No 1. Contender, one doesn’t expects the former NXT guy to defeat Reigns and claim the championship.
So this leaves an opening for Rollins to return, smash and grab hold his belt, which he had before his unfortunate injury. Whatever it is, WWE surely might have plans to bring Rollins back.
With WWE currently enduring one of the worst injury-hit year, it will be no surprise to launch Rollins again, and at a bigger platform. But for now, one has to just wait and watch what comes next.
